Rooted in the coastal identity of La Parguera in Lajas, Puerto Rico, this Borikén Crew tee pays tribute to one of the island's most recognizable marine communities. Long before La Parguera became known for boating, its cayos and bioluminescent waters, the community grew around the sea, fishing, mangrove-lined channels and the families who made their lives along Puerto Rico's southwest coast.
The back artwork captures one of the landscapes that makes La Parguera unmistakable: clear coastal water framed by mangroves and their exposed roots, representing the natural waterways, cayos and protected marine environment surrounding the community.
Even the name carries part of its history. La Parguera is associated with “pargo,” or snapper, reflecting the fishing heritage that helped shape the original coastal settlement. Today, the area brings together generations of fishing culture with places such as Cayo Caracoles, Bahía Fosforescente, mangrove forests, coral reefs and seagrass habitats.
